At a time when the world is facing unprecedented environmental challenges, the conversation around a just climate transition has never been more critical.
How can we ensure that climate policies address environmental issues and protect the rights of those most affected?
Join us for «Global Perspectives on the (Missing) Human Rights Component of a Just Climate Transition» a side event at the Think20 (T20) midterm conference in Rio de Janeiro in October.
The event will feature two dynamic sessions. The first will focus on the critical role of environmental defenders in a just transition, highlighting the challenges they face and the strategies needed to protect their rights.
The second session will delve into the institutional frameworks necessary to support a human rights-based approach to climate action.
Through interactive panels and expert insights, participants will have the opportunity to engage with thought leaders and share experiences. In addition, each session will include a working space in groups that will identify dimensions and propose actions to strengthen the human rights dimension in implementing the T20 Brasil . Task Force 2 recommendations on climate and energy.
